This juice has apple, ginger, lemon juice and a green chilli in it. It also has a touch of salt added into it which actually reduces the bitter level and makes it more appetizing. Added a green apple, the tartness of that apple paired beautifully with the bittergourd. You can use normal red apples as well.
Preparation Time : 20 mins
Serves : 2 to 3
Ingredients:
Bitter Gourd / Pavakkai - 1 large
Green Apple / Red Apple - 1
Ginger - 2 cm piece peeled and chopped
Lemon Juice - 1 tblspn or to taste
Salt or Black Salt - 1 tsp + 1/2 tsp
Green Chilli or Black Pepper - 1 small chopped
Cold Water as needed
Method:
Take bitter gourd and wash it well. Cut them in half, scoop out the seeds. Chop it into small pieces.
Take this in a bowl, add in 1 tsp of salt over this and mix really well with your hands. Set this aside for 10 to 15 mins.
Now chop a apple, remove the seeds and set aside.
Now take the bitter gourd and squeeze it in your hands, the juices will come out, discard it.
Take the squeezed bitter gourd in a blender, add in green apple, chilli, ginger and puree smoothly adding some water.
